Pomona Ride & Drive Event Recap

On November 13, 2024, CALSTART and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) hosted a highly successful Zero-Emissions Showcase + Ride & Drive at the Fairplex in Pomona, CA. This free event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, fleet owners, and the public to showcase the latest in zero-emissions technology and transportation solutions.

Event Information

The event featured 12 heavy-duty trucks, 36 medium-duty trucks, and 23 off-road equipment pieces, including a zero-emissions ice cream truck. Attendees from government agencies, fleet owners/operators, OEMs, and community organizations had the opportunity to test drive zero-emissions vehicles on three different tracks. A dedicated vehicle showcase area also highlighted static displays of cutting-edge zero-emissions models.  

True to its mission, the event was entirely emissions-free, including the power sources for registration, A/V equipment, restrooms, and food vending. 

Media and Promotion

The event garnered media attention, including coverage by the Daily Bulletin News, which highlighted the event’s impact and showcased vehicles. CALSTART also leveraged CARB’s extensive network to promote the event across trucking fleets, shipping ports, and environmental agencies within a 100-mile radius.
